Our blood is green
At U-RENT, it’s not just our brand that’s green. Eco-consciousness is in our DNA.
We’re always finding ways to reduce waste and offset our carbon footprint through upcycling, recycling, and downcycling anything we can. Anything that can’t be repurposed is recycled, donated to worthy causes and communities, or ethically and responsibly disposed of.
Our policy is to scrutinise every type of waste we produce to ensure we drive a green future. We have implemented several initiatives to ensure responsible waste management and resource conservation, including:
Tyres
Used tyres are either collected and returned to our trusted suppliers for responsible disposal and recycling, or given to entrepreneurs to make furniture, swings, and the like.
Cardboard boxes and Printing Paper
We partner with a reputable recycling company that collects and recycles our cardboard boxes, ensuring they are diverted from landfills and given new life. We actively promote sustainable practices at our offices, including the efficient use of printing paper. By printing on both sides and managing our paper supplies, we minimise waste and replenish our stock with sustainably sourced paper.
25L plastic soap containers
Rather than discarding them, we donate our soap containers to a recycling facility where they are repurposed and transformed into new products.
Used oil
We work with Oilkol to collect and recycle used oil, ensuring it is processed and reused in an environmentally friendly manner.
Solar power and borehole water
As part of our commitment to renewable energy and sustainable resources, all our premises are now powered by solar energy and our head office supplemented with borehole water. This reduces our reliance on the grid and municipal water supply, enabling us to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
